Rare monuments carved into the stone in the name of fate, one high up into the rocky cliffs, and the other hidden in the darkness of a cave.
Like a pledge to the faith of its kind, Ostrog, the Orthodox monastery, stands carved into the rocks of mountain Ostrog. At 900 m altitude, for more than three centuries, it daringly defies the time. The impressive architecture and its position attract people of all religions and from all over the world. For many Orthodox people, this place represents the holy goal of pilgrimage, giving them hope, comfort and healing.
Dajbabe monastery, on the other side, for more than three hundred years hides its sanctity under the ground. Underneath two belfries and a frontage of the church, it simply disappears in the ground. There are caves, natural and the ones being dug by hand in search for the sacred relics, still unfound, they keep the secret. The unrealistic ambient of the cave from which frescoes faces being drown on the rocks emerge, it emits the atmosphere of secret things and represents the attraction for visitors from different places of the world.
